Deb is a true blue Vancouver Island Girl, growing up in Port Alberni and then moving to Victoria. The workforce brought her into many fields including a long history in the hospitality field before moving into her love of animals where she continues to work at a vet clinic. Outside of her work, she is an active volunteer member in the community being part of the Lions organization for over 10 years, Grace Gardens, and Sooke Arts Council. She is also a board member of the Sooke Chamber of Commerce. Her passion for volunteering runs deep, wanting to make a difference to her community and those in need. She is excited to be part of the Shoebox Project helping women bond together to know that others truly do care.

The Victoria Shoebox Project occupies the ancestral, traditional and contemporary lands of the Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation (Cayuse, Umatilla and Walla Walla), W̱SÁNEĆ First Nations, Lekwungen/Songhees Nations. In particular, our Chapter resides on land ceded in the Te’mexw Treaty Association & Douglas Treaties. We recognize and support the Indigenous individuals and communities who live here now, and those who were forcibly removed from their homelands. In offering this land acknowledgement, we affirm Indigenous sovereignty, history and experiences.
