The Shoebox Project’s head office occupies the ancestral, traditional, and contemporary lands of the Mississaugas of the Credit, the Anishnabeg, the Chippewa, the Haudenosaunee, and the Wendat peoples. In particular, our office resides on land ceded in Treaty No. 13 of 1805, otherwise known as the Toronto Purchase. We recognize and support the Indigenous individuals and communities who live here now and those who were forcibly removed from their homelands. In offering this land acknowledgment, we affirm Indigenous sovereignty, history, and experiences.
