As a newcomer, the care and compassion I received during my journey made me feel truly valued and appreciated. I deeply understand the significance of such gestures and the impact they can have. Volunteering at Shoebox offers a meaningful opportunity for me to give back to my community and contribute to making a difference in the lives of others.

The Toronto Shoebox Project occupies the ancestral, traditional and contemporary lands of the Anishinabewaki, Wendake-Nionwentsïo, Ho-de-no-sau-nee-ga (Haudenosaunee), Mississauga, Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation. In particular, our Chapter resides on land ceded in the Toronto Purchase & Treaty 13, 1805. We recognize and support the Indigenous individuals and communities who live here now, and those who were forcibly removed from their homelands. In offering this land acknowledgement, we affirm Indigenous sovereignty, history and experiences.
