My name is Jeanine Piché, and I am excited to continue as the local co-coordinator for The Shoebox Project for Women – Sudbury Chapter. Each new season brings another opportunity to come together as a community and make a meaningful difference in the lives of women who may be facing difficult circumstances. I am truly grateful to be part of an organization that allows us to give back, connect with our community, and remind women that they are seen, valued, and cared for. For me, the greatest reward is knowing that something as simple as a thoughtfully put-together shoebox can bring a smile, a moment of comfort, or a little bit of joy to someone’s day. I look forward to another season of working alongside our amazing volunteers, supporters, and community partners to make a difference—one shoebox at a time.

This holiday season, fill a standard-sized, decorated Shoebox with approximately $50 worth of gifts and essentials that any woman might enjoy, and include a warm greeting or message of support. Our volunteers distribute these gifts to local women’s shelters and community agencies serving women impacted by homelessness across Canada.
Whether you donate a Shoebox virtually or in-person, it is more than just a gift. It is a rare and powerful reminder that we all matter.

Sudbury project aims to make a brighter Christmas
The Sudbury Shoebox Project occupies the ancestral, traditional and contemporary lands of the Anishinabewaki ᐊᓂᔑᓈᐯᐗᑭ. In particular, our Chapter resides on land ceded in the Robinson-Huron (Treaty 61, 1850). We recognize and support the Indigenous individuals and communities who live here now, and those who were forcibly removed from their homelands. In offering this land acknowledgement, we affirm Indigenous sovereignty, history and experiences.
