I am an engineering manager working in the high tech industry for over 25 years. I graduated with a bachelor of science in Computer Science from McMaster University in Hamilton and now live in Ottawa with my husband Michael, and two rescue dogs, Bree and Emily. I am a mom to two amazing children. In my spare time, I'm an avid-yogi. I love spending time outdoors and am an avid reader. My parents instilled in me the importance of volunteering and giving back to the community at a young age. This is a lesson I've carried with me throughout my life. When I heard the Ottawa chapter was looking for a local coordinator, I jumped at the opportunity. It is a cause near and dear to my heart. I, along with all the other dedicated volunteers that make the Ottawa chapter a success, are excited to be helping The Shoebox Project this year with its mandate of supporting and empowering women in the national capital region.

Thank you to our wonderful community of Ottawa for your enthusiasm and dedication to supporting women facing or experiencing homelessness. With your generous donations, we distributed 1972 shoeboxes to 30 agencies across the city. We were also able to include a $10, $15 or $20 gift card in every box.
We are also very appreciative of the support of our volunteers in making the 2025 Ottawa Shoebox Project holiday drive such a resounding success. It truly takes a team, and we couldn’t have done it without your incredible support.

The Ottawa Shoebox Project occupies the ancestral, traditional and contemporary lands of the Kanienʼkehá꞉ka (Mohawk), Omàmìwininìwag (Algonquin), Anishinabewaki ᐊᓂᔑᓈᐯᐗᑭ. In particular, our Chapter resides on land ceded in the Crawford Purchase, 1783. We recognize and support the Indigenous individuals and communities who live here now, and those who were forcibly removed from their homelands. In offering this land acknowledgement, we affirm Indigenous sovereignty, history and experiences.
