As a woman, I believe it is important to support other women. Although doing volunteer work is about giving to others in need, you end up receiving so much more. The Shoebox Project is a great way to let women know they are thought of. Every person I know who has participated in making a Shoebox has told me that this is by far one of the most personal donations they’ve ever done and has truly enjoyed giving! For all of these reasons, it was easy for me to decide to become a part of this great initiative!

The Montérégie Shoebox Project occupies the ancestral, traditional and contemporary lands of the Nitassinan (Innu) First Nations, Wendake-Nionwentsïo First Nations. In particular, our Chapter resides on land ceded in the Traité Huron-Britannique de 1760. We recognize and support the Indigenous individuals and communities who live here now, and those who were forcibly removed from their homelands. In offering this land acknowledgement, we affirm Indigenous sovereignty, history and experiences.
