Linda and Denise are excited and proud to serve as Co-coordinators for the Mississauga Chapter of The Shoebox Project. They are passionate about working with the community to help local women who find themselves in need. Receiving a gift sends a warm message that someone cares and that they are not alone.

This holiday season, fill a standard-sized, decorated Shoebox with approximately $50 worth of gifts and essentials that any woman might enjoy, and include a warm greeting or message of support. Our volunteers distribute these gifts to local women’s shelters and community agencies serving women impacted by homelessness across Canada.
Whether you donate a Shoebox virtually or in-person, it is more than just a gift. It is a rare and powerful reminder that we all matter.

Shoebox Project supports women in Peel shelters
The Mississauga Shoebox Project occupies the ancestral, traditional and contemporary lands of the Anishinabewaki, Wendake-Nionwentsïo, Ho-de-no-sau-nee-ga (Haudenosaunee), Attiwonderonk (Neutral), Mississauga, Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation. In particular, our Chapter resides on land ceded in the Treaty 13A, 1805/Head of the Lake Purchase . We recognize and support the Indigenous individuals and communities who live here now, and those who were forcibly removed from their homelands. In offering this land acknowledgement, we affirm Indigenous sovereignty, history and experiences.
