I was born and raised in northern India and later moved to the U.S. for work before life and love brought me to Canada — and to Brantford — 5 years ago. As a software engineer, I’ve had the privilege of meeting people from all walks of life, which has deepened my passion for supporting women and children in need. Brantford’s close-knit, caring community has truly become home for me. That’s why being part of The Shoebox Project means so much — it’s a simple yet powerful way to remind women that they are seen, valued, and loved. When I’m not working or volunteering, you’ll usually find me enjoying life’s little moments with my husband and daughter — exploring new places, dancing, or unwinding with my crochet projects.

The Brantford Shoebox Project occupies the ancestral, traditional and contemporary lands of the Anishinabewaki ᐊᓂᔑᓈᐯᐗᑭ, Ho-de-no-sau-nee-ga (Haudenosaunee), Attiwonderonk (Neutral), Mississauga, Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation. In particular, our Chapter resides on land ceded in the Haldimand Treaty & The Simcoe Patent (Treaty 4, 1793). We recognize and support the Indigenous individuals and communities who live here now, and those who were forcibly removed from their homelands. In offering this land acknowledgement, we affirm Indigenous sovereignty, history and experiences.
